Your marine Air conditioning strainer is one of the most overlooked maintenance item on boats. When the strainer becomes restricted with growth, water flow decreases and if not cleaned will lead to system failures. Strainer Maintainer will save you time and money.
Cleaning your strainer
1. Shut down power to your ac systems and ac sea water pump.

2. Close the thru hull valve to the off position.

3. Remove the cap on the strainer, remove strainer basket and set aside.

4. For strainers 1 inch and larger, use Strainer Maintainers large scraper to clean the wall of the strainer. For strainers 3/4 inch and less use the small
scraper.

5. The outflow of your strainer is often overlooked and is very important
part of your strainer to clean. Use the lip of tool to clean the outflow portion of your strainer.
6. This step is very important!!!!!! If you have scraped barnacles and marine
growth off the strainer, you will need to vacuum out the debri, or this
debri can cause restriction down stream of the strainer.

7. Use the bottom edge of the tool to clean the outside of the basket. Use
the smaller edge to clean the inside of the strainer basket.

8. Install strainer bascket

9. Slightly open thru hull valve and allow water to fill the strainer bowl and
shut the thru hull off. This step prevents air lock in the water pump.
10. Install cap on strainer and open thru hull.
11. Turn power back on to AC systems and sea water pump. check for
water flow when AC system calls for cooling pump.
